Music Catch

"Haha, wow."

submission: Music Catch
date: May 26, 2008

I started playing thinking, there's really nothing special about this. But it really is beautiful, haha. When it ended I just sat there like, wow... That was.. just, so epic. IT really was great, I had a lot of fun playing it and the music really flows through your ears in this one. I loved the piece you chose a lot, and the way you made the game work was original, fun, and really relaxing and colorful. I had a lot of fun with this one, put me in a good mood. Great job!

Mystic Ball

"Room for improvement"

submission: Mystic Ball
date: March 15, 2008

Well, adding 140 phrases does a good job in making it slightly more original, but it's fairly obvious to see that this is pretty much just like every other "8-Ball" type game. The graphics were mediocre at best, and there wasn't really a point to it when you could just type in random words, or none at all. It's like, why even include a text box? You could have easily said "Ask a question out loud and the mystic ball will hear it and answer."

I think one thing original that you could have done with the textbox is, make it so that it recognizes what's a question and what isn't. To do this, you'd have to make it recognize question words in the beginning of a sentance that are yes and no related (Am, Are, Is, Can, etc). This would have made it a whole lot more original.

I give you a 6/10, but I think you could do a whole lot better on this.

Author's Response:

you raise a fair point but I can't help feeling that you've misunderstood the purpose of it. I like the idea about recognizing questions and I'll definitely consider it although I plan now to move on to bigger and better things.

This type of game is done just the way it should be. Incredible art and animation, very challenging and puzzling, and very fun, with tons of things to look at on the screen. I enjoyed this a lot, great job!

Syndacite Chapter 2

"Excellent!"

date: March 7, 2008

I really enjoyed this, actually. Some of the main positive points would have to be that the voice acting was actually pretty good, unlike a lot of Flash's that try and pull off movies like this. I also enjoyed the animation and expressions, they seemed to fit the dialog and situations really well. The story was also interesting and fairly unique and the whole thing was just fun and entertaining to watch. Great job on this! I look forward to the next! :)

You or whoever did most of the voices for this would be able to do the best Dane Cook impression.

Awesome movie, very funny. Nice one!

"Kickass style for Flash"

submission: MARKSMEN

Awesome job on this. When I first started playing I was fairly surprised at the controls. Of course, I've seen those AS3 or even AS2 rendered 3D FPS, but their crappy controls and glitchiness doesn't compare to this at all. This game was very smooth, and the "looking" system was awesome. Very impressive work, great job!

Brick Hole

"Awesome!"

submission: Brick Hole

Really nice idea, and plays very well. Much like regular Tetris, just round, so it's not too hard to play either. Great game!

The only constructive criticism I could give is, maybe spiff it up a bit. While it's supposed to simple, I think some better graphics (shading, shine) and eye candy would help, and look a lot nicer.

Regardless, great job!
