Are you people crazy. Not the best game but completely undeserving of such a low score. Lots of effort clearly went into this. It plays great, feels great, runs great. Great job. A cool game, something to play when you're bored, definitely worth a look, I enjoyed it.

My only complaint is the controls are very unfriendly. I didn't like them , but from what I can tell, I think you can set them, so thats a SUPER plus.

PhobiK responds:

Wow! thank you for your comments, I'm glad you liked it. To read this makes me think it's not so bad :)

Room for improvement

Well, adding 140 phrases does a good job in making it slightly more original, but it's fairly obvious to see that this is pretty much just like every other "8-Ball" type game. The graphics were mediocre at best, and there wasn't really a point to it when you could just type in random words, or none at all. It's like, why even include a text box? You could have easily said "Ask a question out loud and the mystic ball will hear it and answer."

I think one thing original that you could have done with the textbox is, make it so that it recognizes what's a question and what isn't. To do this, you'd have to make it recognize question words in the beginning of a sentance that are yes and no related (Am, Are, Is, Can, etc). This would have made it a whole lot more original.

I give you a 6/10, but I think you could do a whole lot better on this.

Hamster-at-Dawn responds:

you raise a fair point but I can't help feeling that you've misunderstood the purpose of it. I like the idea about recognizing questions and I'll definitely consider it although I plan now to move on to bigger and better things.

For those of you saying it's impossible...

I beat the demo. There IS a specific combination for the thing in the antique shop. Once you get it right, well, you will see. But after you figure it out and leave the antique shop, the demo ends, unfortunately. It was a very great game my friend, and I hope you make it a full length game. It was challenging to figure out the combo, because I didn't see any clues for it, I guessed it and got it right =p

It was scary though, and gave you the feeling that something would pop out at any second. The silent hill music gave it that extra touch. It was an excellent game though, can't wait to play the full version :)

flashdreamsstudiosx responds:

Awsome! Hey thanks you guys for the support! ;) Ill be working on this for sure.

Great to see a new SMASH! Game out!

Perfect for the season, and very well done, with a nice christmas feel. I somehow get absorbed into the SMASH! games, they are very addictive, challenging and fun. Glad to see a new SMASH! out =D

Smoking-Chimney responds:

Thanks for your review, and it's good to see a SMASH! fan out there :) I appreciate the support - thanks a lot!

Fun! But, problem...

I'm not sure how long it takes to update the players scores, but I got over 500,000 and it isn't showing up yet D:

The game is extremely fun, and addictive. Competing with everyone else online really brings this game to life. You did an excellent job coding, and the ragdoll feel to the character is great! Very fun, good music and sounds, and challening :)

ReduxGames responds:

Hmm. werird, working out the final bugs, i'll look into it right away.

Hey guys

What to say? MindChamber, as always, great job on the art, really, seems like each new flash you come out with, it always has better art/animation then the last, and with your skills, thats hard to do, very nice.

Frosty! Wow, collabing with MC eh? =p Great job at the scripting, seems like you've improved yourself a bit. I love the combo system, it's so good, everything is scripted really well and looks like you did a great job.

Zombie, well, I personally don't know you or what you did, I'm sorry, but I'm assuming you scripted, so I'm going to assume you're just as good as MC and Frosted, great job ;p

Great game, really fun fun fun as hell

MindChamber responds:

thanks for the awesome review!

as for Zombie he did the art for the last boss which was the winner of my sprite contest!

Great!

A really original concept, fun, and addicting. Great job with this one, I really liked it and you did a great job in making it ;)

Keep rocking hard.

Smoking-Chimney responds:

We will keep rockin' on hard - thanks for the review!

Awesomeundo...

Deltas first submission. Awesome, now where's that 3D game that I've heard rumored around too many times ;D

Great job guys, an excellent tutorial, with lots of things I myself should learn. BitmapData tutorials are really amazing, and should help me a lot seeing as how I was too lazy to learn bitmapData from AS: Main because liam blows (joke), but these tutorials might be easier for me to understand. Really nice job guys =)

Depredation responds:

Haha, thansk TD :). Glad you like it. I'm trying to reply to every review. It may take a while :).

Anyway, glad you learnt somthing :). I know i did :D.

Thanks.

,Ali.

Yes!

The_Swain will be proud.
Great work, an excellent soundboard by an excellent animator =p
Love it

wizardman responds:

You exaggerate, I'm not an excellent animator :P But thanks for the review, glas you liked it.

Totally Awesome =)

Great job. Music rocked, fun, funny, addictive. The quotes at the end are the most truthful things I've ever heard. "You actually decided to TRY this time right?"

Owned.

The-Mercenary responds:

Yea, I made a bunch of them, though once you get a high enough score it just tells you you have enough to to stand a chance in the highscores.
